    December 8 saw a great photo-shoot at the Hamburg OTTO Photo Studio for the winner of the OTTO-Facebook Model Contest. The clear winner in November was 22-year-old student Sascha, whose entry photo as ‘Brigitte’ in a blonde wig and feather boa took the competition by storm.

    New fashion TV format of “ProSieben” TV channel in co-operation with OTTO

    Hamburg – After successfully sponsoring the TV format “Die Model-WG“ (The model community) OTTO will start a new co-operation with TV channel “ProSieben” in January: In the new TV show "Fashion & Fame – Design your dream!” seven junior designers have the opportunity to prove their talents to top designer Philipp Plein and his panel for six weeks, and the winner of the show will become official designer of the new “GoldCut” brand that is available exclusively at www.otto.de.

    1.2 million votes for transvestite prankster - Koblenz student surprise winner of OTTO Facebook Model Contest

    A rather harmless model contest by online retailer OTTO on its Facebook fan page turned into a mega event with an amusing ending. Around 50,000 young men and women took part in the competition and cast more than one million votes for the candidates. The winner: Koblenz student Sascha, who posed in women’s clothing as ‘Brigitte’. With around 23,000 votes he clearly outpaced the competition. OTTO has responded with a smile.

    OTTO further extends multi-device offer with the new iPad app

    After introducing the first shopping "Home Affaire Catalogue" application for the iPad across Germany in the middle of this year, OTTO now offers a catalogue kiosk in the app store. With this, the multichannel retailer again meets the demands for scrollable iPad catalogue apps, achieving the next step of its multi-device strategy. The new iPad app, "OTTO catalogues", allows customers to access the contents of six of the company's popular suppliers from now on. The App offers iPad users an even wider selection of different ranges and an improved shopping experience.

    15 years of excellence in e-commerce – www.otto.de is celebrating its anniversary

    The OTTO online shop www.otto.de is celebrating its 15th anniversary and wants to thank its customers with a large-scale online birthday campaign. Until September, customers will be able to access their own birthday shop on www.otto.de, where they can find many offers and promotions relating to the anniversary. In 1995, the multi-channel company was one of the first mailorder companies in Germany with an online presence for its customers.     Yesterday, the OTTO fashion blog "Two for Fashion" was awarded the OnlineStar 2010 in the category of "Best corporate blog". With its inspiring contributions, photos and videos, providing exclusive behind-the-scenes insights into the fashion world and the company, "Two for Fashion" (www.twoforfashion.de) won the approval of the public jury. As Germany's fashion no. 1*, www.otto.de received the audience award "Best fashion and lifestyle site" for the fifth time. The publishing group, Ebner Ulm, has hosted the OnlineStar for eleven years. It is one of the most important awards in the online industry. Roughly 130,000 users voted for the year's best website in 15 categories.

    OTTO is starting a mobile offensive: New mobile shop for Smartphone users

    For the multichannel retailer OTTO, 2010 is all about Mobile Business. The relaunch of the OTTO mobile shop (m.otto.de), providing an optimised interface for Smartphones with touchscreens, is at the heart of the Mobile Offensive. The new shopping site transports the shopping experience on www.otto.de to the mobile channel and can boast an innovative design owing to a new operating concept and additional features. Roughly 70% of users already access OTTO's mobile offer using a Smartphone. The existing mobile shop continues to be available for users with older end devices, which OTTO was already presenting in 2000 as a forerunner for mobile shopping. Other milestones of the Mobile Offensive include OTTO's "Home Affaire Catalogue" App for the iPad, which was already launched successfully, the publication of a Smartphone study together with Google as well as the iPhone app of OTTO's specialised shop www.schlafwelt.de.

The product range includes built-in and stand-alone units, small electrical appliances and personal care devices. The main focus is on washing and refrigeration.

    OTTO starts the new season with a new cover model and an integrated campaign

    The multichannel retailer, OTTO, today presents in Hamburg the internationally renowned top model, Toni Garrn, as the new face on the OTTO main catalogue, for the beginning of the Autumn/Winter season. In the spirit of the campaign motto, "DAS IST ES!” a strong eye-catching campaign is being broadcast on TV and online, focusing on fashion trends for each travel destination and "last-minute shopping". An advertising format has also been put on the iPad for the first time.
